• Lucie Rie Inspirations

Lucie Rie (1902-1995) Ceramic artist I love the refined simplicity of his work which is avant-garde for its time and remains a reference for us potters.. She has not stopped innovating and experimenting with new shapes and new glazes. She baked in an electric oven and made her pieces on the lathe. His work is internationally known, with that of his friend Hans Coper. Austrian, driven out by nazism, she settles in England in 1939 and, passionate, considering themselves as “Just a potter”, she continues her admirable work until 88 years ! So I have many years of creation to come and share with you. !

  • Inspirations Rosanjin Kitaôji

I discovered this Japanese artist at the very beginning of my activity as a ceramicist, his work touched and inspired me a lot. On 2013, the Guimet museum presented a retrospective of the work of this calligrapher, lacquerer and ceramist. Rosanjin Kitaôji (1883-1959) created his dishes according to the cuisine prepared in his restaurant. The functionality of its ceramic inspired by nature marked me.
